RuneScape's Steam version launches on October 14, and Old School RuneScape will follow it in 2021.
RuneScape executive producer Mod Warden mentioned there will be changes coming soon as well. "Improving the early game experience, onboarding and readability" as well as reworking some of the UI "from refining text, content, interaction and hitbox sizes, to engine improvements and stability that support flexibility across the widest array of possible display sizes." It's good to see they Dev team is still hard at work providing ease of life updates and new content. Though, a lot of these have to do with the mobile version release coming next year.
This update comes with Steam achievements just like any other Steam game. The good news is that you will be able to link an existing account and continue your journey with your decade old character.
The Old school version of RuneScape will be coming to steam sometime next year. This should bring a solid amount of new players into the Old School realm. Which is exciting to hear, so hopefully this happens before the Group Ironman release. I would love to see a spread of old and new players starting through Group Ironman journey together.
Just less than 2 weeks before the Shadowlands expansion to WoW comes; these 2 classic MMO monsters released in the same month are sure to impact each other with a lot of the same player-base.
